Characteristic: rosy, rhombic crystal, or amorphous light brown powder, relative density 3.125, insoluble in water, but soluble in dilute inorganic acids. Stable in dry air. It is easy to oxidize when wet and form manganese trioxide. It decomposes when heated and emits carbon dioxide. |
Application: It is the raw material for producing ferrite for telecommunication equipment. Industrial manganese carbonate is widely used in desulfurization catalysts, enamel pigments, varnish driers and other raw materials for manganese salts. It is also used in medicine, mechanical parts, and phosphating. |
